Located on the north coast of Jamaica in Montego Bay, the Half Moon is a family-friendly, private resort with a tropical, secluded atmosphere. What makes the resort so ideal for a family vacation is the new Anancy Children’s Village at this family resort. Themed after Anancy the Spider, a popular children’s character in Jamaica, the village is a children’s dream and features bright, vibrant buildings filled with hours of activities. From puppet shows, arts and crafts, movies and fun snacks to outdoor sports, a wading pool, a sandbox and a playground, the village has everything to keep children busy and having a great time while mom and dad indulge in adult activities.
Older children can now enjoy The Hype Zone, a place just for teens, and will also find plenty of activities to keep themselves occupied including tennis clinics, volleyball, nature walks, golf, squash, horseback riding, and water sports galore.
While kids are having fun in the village, adults can enjoy tennis, squash, horseback riding, a spa or take classes at the resort’s renowned golf academy. Days together as a family can be spent biking along the coast of the island, shopping, playing in the surf on the beach, lounging by the pool or enjoying an excursion to various villages on the island.
Snorkel, sail, dive, wind surf, water ski, kayak and cruise the Caribbean during your vacation. Our aquatic experts, Captain’s Water Sports & Dive Centre, provide everything from equipment to certified instructors as well as offer nearby dive sites teeming with a variety of fish, coral and caverns.
Certain non-motorised water sports are included for guests staying at this all inclusive family resort. The included activities are snorkeling, kayaks, pedal boats, and beach floats (lilos). For those guests looking for a little more sailing options such as Hobi Wave, Sunfish, Sailing, Windsurfing and Banana Boat rides are available
Motorised water sports are available from the Sunrise Beach and include parasailing, boat trips, water-skiing, tubing, banana boat rides, wakeboard, kneeboard, and glass bottom boat tours. Also available are special boat charters and deep sea fishing.
The Half Moon Captain’s Water Sports & Dive Centre is our personalised diving facility that caters to all your individual diving needs. Diving activities include dive trips to unique locations, equipment rentals, SCUBA diving lessons, PADI open water certification, PADI “Sassy” for kids and other specialty courses.
At night, babysitters are available so that the grown-ups can go out to one of the resort lounges and mingle with others and maybe sip on some tropical cocktails 🙂
