Best Family Beach Vacations Accomplishments, Kudos and Awards

Wall Street Journal – June 13, 2005

Featured in the article titled “A Guide to Family Vacations – How to make your trips more memorable and affordable” by Susan Warren. was listed as a resource “available on the internet to help you get more bang for your family vacation buck”.

Chicago Tribune – July 6, 2006

Featured in the article titled “Hit the Web for family travel helpe” by Darren Green. was listed as a website that “offers both advice and links to partner sites where parents can purchase products and services relating to a family vacation on the beach. For example, a scroll through the list of recommendations relating to babies and toddlers at the beach leads you to a link for a service called “Babies Travel Lite,” which essentially ships to your destination virtually everything a baby might need while soaking in the rays (sunblock, diapers, formula, food, etc.). For anyone who’s ever suffered the two-bags-for-each-baby issue, this service is invaluable. Another interesting option for those on a budget is the “Family of Five” link, devoted to resorts that allow five people–three children and two adults–in the same room, rather than the customary four.”

I am looking for a family trip this June or July. I have a 17 yr old son and 15 yr old daughter. I live in Gadsden, AL. I thought about an Alaskan cruise? Any suggestions on cruise lines ? My local travel agent said the kids will be board to death.
My daughter doesn’t want to go that route saying it will be to cold to do anything so I am interested if u have a suggestion for a warmer cruise or all inclusive?
We r athletic outgoing spontaneous thrill seekers if that helps any.

Hi Cathy, I have to agree with the travel agent – Alaska Cruises tend to attract a more mature crowd and there will not be as many kids and teens on board. A cruise however is a great vacation idea for teenagers. The teen club helps keep them entertained and gives them an opportunity to meets other teens. There is a lot to do on board, some ships even have a rock climbing wall and skating rinks – the bigger ship, usually the more there is to do. And, when you are in port, there are lots of excursions to choose from or you can just have a beach day. I would recommend a Caribbean cruise on Carnival, Royal Caribbean or Norwegian for teens. Some even sail out of ports close to you including Galveston, Charleston and New Orleans.
